Helge Dorsch

"THE BARBER OF SEVILLE"
Icelandic Opera, Reykjavik

The orchestra, under the sure and the enthusiastic direction of HELGE DORSCH, was from beginning of the performance exactly together. This had a most positive influence on the performance, for Maestro Dorsch, through his explosive Tempi, accelerandi and virtouse parlando sections, had the stage completely under his control.
In addition, he found plenty of room for many beautiful details, for example the fast string figures which were razor sharp and yet elegant - exactly as Figaro gives Dr. Bartolo a shave in this scene.
